Pillars of the Earth

Pillars of the Earth is historical fiction about the building of a cathedral in medieval England and France. Story begins by following Tom, the master builder and his family, but continues with the story of Father Phillip's extraordinary obsession with building a cathedral for God. It is an engaging story spanning several decades and giving a personal view of historical events and their effect on everyday people. Well written and I am looking forward to the sequel. I give this 4 out of 5 stars.
