Shut up its my birthday

So today is my birthday and it began by sleeping in - always a good start to any birthday. Then my dad and I went to test drive cars, except no dealers were open. Yep, Chick-fil-A and Jeep dealers still honor the Sabbath. Anyway, we stopped at one dealer and looked at the Jeep Libertys and one was unlocked, so I got to look inside it (in case you were wondering, Libertys is a proper name in this case, so it is pluralized by adding s rather than ies; yes, I am a grammar freak - shut up its my birthday). The Jeep Liberty is my current fantasy car (shut up - its my birthday) and it is so cute and comes in a perfect shade of blue and I see them all over town. I want one. I guess that means I need to save my money, which means the practical side of me will probably win out and I'll get a grandma car. I already got the 'SUVs are expensive' speech from my dad. Oh well, we'll see.

Birthdays are kind of a big deal in my family and I get the better end of the deal than my brother does - his birthday is 2 DAYS after Christmas. He is currently sitting here yammering on about software and computer stuff while I am trying to post, hence the title "SHUT UP ITS MY BIRTHDAY". Also, he hasn't given me a birthday present for 3 years even though I give him one EVERY YEAR, because I'm just like that. On second thought, he does just fine for his birthday because we always take pity on him and get him way better stuff than we would if his birthday was say, in June, like mine. Seriously.

I meant to post about last week's bday dinner with Kelli and the Beckys. We went to De Tapas and La Madeline and just had a great time as usual. Kelli's birthday is in June, and Becky H's is in May, so we celebrated all of our birthdays. Fun times!

I've been hanging out with the fam today after attempting to test drive a Liberty, and I got to open my birthday presents this afternoon. As I said, birthdays are a big deal, so I got several presents from the parents. I love Napoleon Dynamite (the movie - shut up its my birthday) and I got some cool little stuff with quotes from the movie ("Lucky!") and some dvd's and oh yeah - my very own laptop!!! Yes, I'm typing on it this very moment!!! So cool!!! If I knew how to tell you what the specifics about it were, I would, but suffice it to say its cool. Very cool.

So, Happy Birthday to ME!

I can't believe you call yourself a grammar freak and still fail on multiple occasions to use the contracted form of "it's" when shortening "it is." This is the English language's ever-persistent exception to the rule. On any othr word, the apostrophe + s would denote ownership, but when denoting a genderless subject's ownership, "its" is the appropriate spelling.

I bet next week you'll start writing things like, "your the best" or "I love you're new dress."

I, the grammar patrol officer of sector 2814, spit upon your grammatical hypocrisy, and stomp on it as would an angry little frenchman.

You, my friend, are a grammar freak impostor!
